Ambush

    Armies: Two, no Special Characters, Vehicules (including Dreadnaughts) or Major Daemons.
    Campaign Players:
    • Ultramarines (JP)
    • Alpha Legion (Ti-Blanc)
    Points per Army: Ultramarines 750, chaos 1000, 1 character must be declared commander even if he would NOT be allowed normally (an exarch, chaplain or bigboss could serve as commander with a strategy rating equal to the same of a legal commander (Marines: 5, Eldar 4, Orks 3, etc...)

Setting
Some of you may think that I am not one of you and you are right ! However we both share our devotion to Our Mighty Emperor. While I was held captive by those treacherous renegades, I managed to overhear a number of conversations between the Chaos Lords. They are aware of our plans to invade Mizar IV, however they plan on bringing reinforcements soon. A quick strike may find these reinforcements facing a large imperial army.
Normally I would not propose this, but time is short and we have a splendid occasion to strike a swift blow. It would be too long to give a low-down of what I know to one of your Captain. Therefore I ask of this Sector's Ultramarine Command to give me the command of a small force that will be sent on Mizar to lead a guerilla war against the chaos forces while High Command prepares a larger force to take control of the planet.

After Landing, the Marine forces quickly took position along a road. Meanwhile, after detecting the landing, the Chaos Lord decided to send a force to investigate. The force is thus ready to be ambushed by the Imperial forces.

Battlefield
The road is represented by a line (12" min) where there are no terrain elements. At least one hill should overlook the road.

Orders

Raiding Army You must quickly destroy this force to bring more in the area, thus splitting the forces and allowing you time to hide and mount another raid.
Ambushed ArmyYou must eliminate the raiders in order to give you time to prepare for the upcoming invasion.

Special Conditions

As they are caught by surprise, the Chaos forces must setup all along the road. They cannot be hidden at the start of the game.
The Ultramarine setup off the road, but at least 12' from the chaos forces.

Campaign Outcome
As might've been expected, the Ultramarines Forces were almost wiped out by the end of the 4th turn. Only Commissar Yannick, Chaplain Kadiz and two scouts were able to flee the melee alive.
