Warriors of the Moonshae

Here are some basic descriptions of what an "average soldier" would look like. I this isn’t a comprehensive guide, but something to give a common look & feel to soldiers

Ffolk militias

  • Armor: leather or hide armor with a small wooden shield
  • Weapon: Mostly simple wooden-based: spear (most common), maces, clubs, great clubs
  • Range: Bows

    Nordmen militias and raiders (landborne)

  • Armor: Mix of chain and hide. Large shields would be common
  • Weapon: usually bladed weapons: one-handed swords, axes, spears
  • Range: Bows

    Nordmen militias and raiders (seaborne)

  • Armor: Mix of leather and cloth/padded. Large shields would be common
  • Weapon: usually bladed weapons: one-handed swords, axes, spears
  • Range: Bows

    Amnite Mercenary

    The Amnites have a larger proportion of cavalry than any of the native people. They are also composite of mercenary units each with their different elements (some are more light/heavy infantry, skirmishers, light/heavy cavalry or specialty units (casters)).
  • Armor: varied (scale and plate are more common)
  • Weapon: varied (martial and edged weapons are common)
  • Range: varied, but crossbow are more common than Moonshavian soldiers
